Listen, Let Go and Don't forget to Smile

Remember as a child all we thought about was what to do for fun, no cares, no responsibilities. The time on the clock didn’t matter. We didn’t set alarms, just ran to the beat of our own drum.
Then we’re told, life can’t always be a circus, sleeping is for lazy people, you have to be there when, to stop thinking about yourself and be responsible.
Well how has that worked for us? It’s put us in a box, creating titles as Mr and Mrs. CEO, owner and self employed, the list goes on. We’ve conformed to the world as we know it, striving to be more, have more, trying to prove ourselves.
Nothing is ever enough. We struggle with finding peace and happiness in our day to day endeavors. Trying to please others as we forget about ourselves.
We forgot how to let go, we forgot what it feels like to sleep in and not care, to do something that brings us joy without guilt.
No wonder why our relationships struggle, our days appear longer than they should, we grumble instead of laugh. Exhausted trying to prove, to be enough.
Have one drink to many, getting lost in TV and the news. Focusing on others problems instead of our own. Hoping ours will just go away.
When all it takes is living our truth.
That still voice inside that you keep ignoring, it’s time to be still and listen.
It’s trying to tell you something, bringing you back to the joy of a child.
Listen and let go. And don’t forget to smile.
